A Magical Mystery Tour

The Story of Scot Alpeter

A lot of people ask about how the Beatles radio show A Magical Mystery Tour with The Beatles came about. Well you can read that part of the story on our facebook page. I wanted to tell you why Scot is the inspiration for the show. I met Scot Alpeter in September of 1981 when we both were in audio school together in Ohio. Within a week or so we became best friends. At school you were required to spend 8 hours in the studio. Scot & I wound up camping there for 16 + hours a day!!! That’s how the connection was made. In 1982 Scot moved to Fl. to work for Peaches Music & Video we kept in touch and started to visit each other on a regular basis. Scot would let me know firsthand when a new Beatles release or solo work from John, Paul, George or Ringo was going to hit the market. Sometimes those items were not going to be released here in the states!!! But Scot made sure that if I wanted any of them that I would get them. Scot was the kind of guy everyone wished they could have as a best friend! No matter how bad you felt about something that went wrong, Scot was there to cheer you up. He’d give the shirt off of his back to help just about anyone that knew him. As the years went by both of our families became closer as if they were related to each other. In 1999 Scot found out he had Melanoma Cancer. He started an experimental treatment that put him into remission. But in 2003 his cancer came back and this time, his time was running out. The rest of this story is on our Facebook page. Most importantly, this show would not exist if it were not for Scot’s generosity and the generosity of his Wife Andi and my Godson London’s for the records & CDs they gave from Scot’s original Collection. We all miss you Scot and we hope somehow you are able tune in each week to the show.
